    Tulsa Oklahoma Politics
Being that we move around soooo much, it is often hard for me to get too involved with local politics, let alone know who the key players are. However on my ride at 6AM to get my daughter ear tube surgery - again - I was listening to Michael DelGiorno, the local talk guy. I had to go home after the surgery and view the clip he was ranting about. It took me 2 times to view it, but I am now as disgusted as he is. I'll set it up for you - the lady in the far back right, the one you see cheering, is supposed to be an "unbiased" reporter for the Tulsa World (which I refuse to subscribe) and she is seen cheering about a point. If you do not feel the newspaper, or any media outlet is biased and you are a drone who continues to believe all that is on the air or in print...take a fork and profusely poke it into your forehead and go find a blog that appeases your pathetic sense of values. If you agree, then lets keep on blogging about the media bias!!!

    Seventeen Magazine
I was out shopping with my pal this morning who is an asst. manager at a grocery store. She was told she may want to pull the Seventen magazines off the shelf because the other stores did. Checking the magazine out, she found the lovely pictures of vaginas up close and personal. Now, I am no prude, and as a kid I got Seventeen, but it sounds like this was a little too graphic. I tried to get my hands on a magazine and went to about 5 stores NONE! This article talks about most major grocery stores pulling Seventeen's October issue. Call the stinkin' ACLUseless, we are trying to shield kids from pornographic material, when they are 90% interested in the clothes. There is definitley a fine line between censorship and common sense. Sounds like Seventeen needs to get some more common sense.

Marge: "I choose to take that literally."

Homer: "Yes, Bart's a tutor now. Toot on, son, toot on!"

    That Damn Latex Allergy!
For those who are my cyber friends, I will introduce you to something else about me...this damn latex allergy. I have had it for 7 years now, since my middle child spent some time in the hospital. I really should be more active in the "Latex Allergy" community, but life seems to get in the way. Anyhoo, my hands are swollen tonight as I touched one of those nice pens with the cushy grips (that one always gets me). Now, my hands are swollen and the benadryl is kicking in. Just thought I'd bitch and gripe. If you are involved in healthcare(like I was) think twice about wearing latex gloves. OK, now think about all the latex that you touched today. I really manage quite well as long as I take Allegra every day and avoid contact with latex (get your mind out of the gutter). Yes, I have nightmares of balloons and clowns (my other fear). That is almost as scary as being trapped in a room with Peace nuts/Liberals! Catch you later when I wake up from my drug induced sleep and reach for my coffee (boy that really sounds healthy)!

Hubby is down in what was once known as Lake Charles now. He is overwhelmed with the devestation. I am hoping he sends me some pictures from the helicopter today. Not sure if he is flying with Dubya or not. I asked him if there was anything besides Geraldo down there...chuckle chuckle. So, when you hear about the Corps of Engineers on TV - look for hubby. I'll keep you posted.

    Don't get me going!
I had my usual long trek out to my kids' gymnastics today and listened to Laura Ingraham and surfed my other favorite talk shows. My blood was boiling by the time the little angels got to the gym. Ms. tragedy slut, tragedy whore, media whore, moonbat, whatever you want to call her has crossed the line with me. It is one thing to have a rational discussion and have an alternate plan. The whackos on DC this weekend look like a bunch of whiny kids who didn't get their own way and don't have other options to fix it.

    MY LIFE
Kid: "I don't want to go for the car ride to gymnastics today."
Me: "Sorry there is nobody available to watch you, so you have to go with me."
Kid: "But I don't want to go."
Me:"Unless you can come up with someone to watch you, you have to go."

Peace Moonbats "Just stop the war now!"
Rational Person: "Do you have any alternate plan?"
Moonbat: "No, just stop it now and who cares about the repercussions of our leaving Iraq, we have our own Country to worry about."
Rational Person: "Do you have an alternate plan or a clue about the big picture?"
Moonbat: "It doesn't matter, we shouldn't be there because they didn't have WMD."

    Hooah Junk
Katrina, Rita, She-who-not be named, Babs, Faranut, ACluseless, my dog eating my Longaberger basket, my daughter needing another set of tubes in her ears this week, far from perfect conduct marks from the boys' progress reports, the growing pile of ironing, my Visa bill, the birdshit on my car... Should I blame Bush for all of these?

Well, hell, why not, everyone does?

Hubby has been working every day since Katrina was in site. Hooah to him for his hard work and dedication and Hooah to the Corps of Engineers for all their hard work. I hope by now that you realize that many of the FEMA workers are civilian Federal employees. Many of them and the equipment come from the Corps of engineers.

Got an early morning call from hubby's work - head in early - you may be heading for hurricane recovery. About 11 am he called up to say he needed his uniforms from the dry cleaners today & they are closed on Sunday. My neighbor knew the owner and called him. He met me at the cleaners and gave them to me free of charge. There is someone who supports the military - how sweet.

Finished all the laundry, shopped for toiletries for him and started his packing. And OMG - he is set to go in the AM. Less than 12 hours and we pulled off him being 100% prepared. Hopefully he will e-mail me some cool stuff to post. I also told him to please get Geraldo's autograph for me if he meets him - that man is a lunatic.

P.S. Personally I think Babs is confused about global warming and all the hot air coming out of Hollywierd maybe causing it.

    Weekend Assignment/Open Trackback

I challenge all my readers to pick up the phone or a pen and contact 1 friend and 1 relative they haven't spoken to in eons for one reason or the other. Then, trackback to me about it!

    • Yesterday I spoke to my best friend from high school, Denise. I see her on my yearly (or less) trek home to Boston and we always fit in a quick visit and catch up. Well, it had been way too long and she called me. Low and behold she has been faithfully been reading my blogs every day and I didn't even know it. She pretty much knew all that was up to date with me and then filled me in with her crew. It was great to talk to her. I could skip 2 years and she would still be my best bud and it feels like we saw each other yesterday.

    • I also called my blind, stubborn Nana. She always told me not to tell anyone she was a Republican. Since her macular degeneration kicked in, she is now a television talk show fan. She loves Hannity just like me.

    • I also sent silly cards out to a bunch of my friends this week - that felt good!

    Friday Food for Thought
What Andy Rodney said on "60 Minutes" :

I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of anything except numbers. The only things I can think of that are truly discriminatory are things like the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine, Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America. Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund, Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or Miss White America; and see what happens...Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason, that is why there are no girls allowed. Girls belong in the Girl Scouts! ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong, it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling, it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English! My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot your sorry a_ _(bottom) if you threaten them, after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word "freeze" or! "stop" in English, see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business. We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document, and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich. I don't pity the poor.I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made, and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid; and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say "NO!"

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of "Political Correctness." I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa; so how can they be "African-Americans"? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe.

I am proud to be from America and nowhere else. And if you don't like my point of view, tough... DON'T PASS IT ON...

    Moonbats
Not sure of the origin of moonbat, but I did find a definition from this source. I reckon it will be picked up as a new word this year. I have to explain myself almost every time I use it. Then again I often have to explain blog, IM, and all the military acronyms I use.

    Barking moonbat

noun. Someone on the extreme edge of whatever their -ism happens to be.
    (coined by
    Perry de Havilland)
Usage: "Definition of a 'barking moonbat': someone who sacrifices sanity for the sake of consistency"

    -Adriana Cronin

The list of moonbats in this world is way too easy to write - they are responsible for all the problems in the world - so there - put that in your pipe and smoke it you wackos!

Task for Wednesday - use "moonbat" 5 times today in casual conversation!

    MSM... Bite me!
    • I was sooo excited to be the first to Technorati (is that a verb) the post from CENTCOM - but oh, well, not a lot of extra traffic from it...yet... one day I will figure the dang ecosystem, technorati etc...
    • Poor Cat, my business and blogging partner (1 of the 2) had a computer crash. You could compare this to a really bad flu or blood loss. Let's wish her computer a speedy recovery.
    • MSM makes me nauseas - great CBS interviews after The President's speech with leading questions like:

Do you feel angry at the President?

Don't you feel it was too little too late?

    How about the President's rhetoric?

Did you feel he was sincere and wants to help rebuild New Orleans?

In their face - everyone there answered exactly opposite the way they were "supposed" to answer. They felt the speech and man behind it was sincere and caring...imagine that?

What Extremists are Saying About Us

    What Extremists Are Saying

CENTCOM: We are fighting an enemy in Iraq and a network of terrorist organizations in the Global War On Terror that uses violence against civilians as well as information operations as methods to advance their goals. The recent attacks in Baghdad and associated web-postings are simply another effort to stave off political progress in Iraq . The Zarqawi networks’ worst enemy is a population that understands their vision and rejects their presence. CENTCOM will continue to stand with the Iraqi Security Forces as they rid their country of these terrorists.

On 14 September, "Murasil Akhbar 4" of the new Global News Network forum, posted a statement issued by Abu-Mus'ab al-Zarqawi's al-Qa'ida Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers [Tanzim al-Qa'ida fi Bilad al-Rafidayn] in which the group announces a new wave of attacks in retaliation against the Iraqi-US military campaign in the city of Tall Affar . "Murasil Akhbar 4" attributed the original claim to "Abu-Maysarah al-Iraqi of the Media Section of the al-Qa'ida Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers." The Global News Network at www.bayanat.info was established in July and immediately became the major source of statements issued by insurgent groups in Iraq .

Posted by Murasil Akhbar 4 on September 14, 2005:

Statement issued by Al-Qa’ida Organization in the Land of the Two Rivers [ Iraq ]

    Original language: Arabic

A translation of the statement follows:

"In the name of God, the compassionate, the merciful.

O God, aim our strikes and make our feet firm

Fight them, and God will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you to victory over them, and heal the hearts of Believers. [Koranic verse]

Praised be God, the supporter of virtuous people and conqueror of the apostates and infidel Americans. God's peace and blessing upon the cheerful, dauntless fighter and his family and companions, the true fearless men in battle.

O nation of Islam: We write to you, O the best nation on earth, and bring you good tidings.

Since yesterday, the battles for revenge started all over the land of the two rivers. The raid for avenging the Sunni people in Tall far has started.

Celebrate and sing the praise of God, O nation of Islam. The battalions of monotheism have set out, pledging to die in support of the faith and its people. They were spearheaded by the best of the battalions, the Al-Bara Bin-Malik Battalion.

Approach us, O paradise. O brigade of martyrdom-seeker: Celebrate and sing the praise of God, for tomorrow you will meet the beloved ones, Muhammad and his companions. You have never accepted injustice, O lions of monotheism. This is your day. Go after the heads of the infidels, the Jews, the Crusaders, and the descendants of Ibn al-Alqami [derogatory term for Shia named after Ibn-al-Alqami, a Shia minister who was accused of betraying the last Abbasid caliph Al-Musta'ism during Hulugu's attack on Baghdad in 1258]. Do not show any mercy toward them.

May God accept from you, o protectors of the religion. May God support you with his victory and enable you to perform enduring good deeds. You have followed the footsteps of the prophet and his guidance. You have not shirked your responsibility. All the graces that you have are from God and his mercy. Praise be to God, first and last and in public and secret.

We will bring you more details once we receive reports about operations in Baghdad and other cities. We want your prayers, o nation of Islam. Your brothers are fighting with the help, power, and support of God. O God, grant us the victory you had promised; o God grant us the victory you had promised; o God grant us the victory you had promised. O God, you are our supporter; o God, we raid and fight with your help.

O God, mover of the clouds, revealer of the book, and conqueror of the Al-Ahzab [coalition of tribes the fought Prophet Muhammad in early Islam], defeat them and grant us victory over them. O God, grant us your help and support; O God, send your soldiers and grant us the victory you had promised.

God is great, God is great; pride is to God, the prophet, and the mujahidin.

[Signed] Abu-Maysrah al-Iraqi, the Media Section of the Al-Qa'ida Organization in the Land of Two Rivers,

    [Dated] 10 Sha'ban 1426 Hegira; 14 September 2005."

Will some snap out of their years of a cycle they were in and take this as an opportunity to rise above or will all these handouts perpetuate the cycle of handouts? Others that were doing just fine, will they ever be fine again? So much to think about and so many good people helping.
    • I am inventing a "Household GPS" for men. It will tell them where the milk is, the laundry basket, new toilet paper rolls, the washing machine and other things that are so hard to find. Never mind the high tech one my hubby has to find a good fishing spot in the woods - this one would be way more useful.
    • I may coin myself "the bullet blogger!"

    • Why people aren't greatful that soldiers give thier lives so they can have the freedom to be idiots
    • Why anyone dare say "I support the troops and am against the war"
    • Why Ted Kennedy is in office
    • Why my dog wants to snack out of the litter box
    • Why kids don't like naps or bedtime
    • Why we can put a man on the moon but can't invent something to clean my house
    • Why more people aren't faithfully reading my blog (correction, I DO have a lot of faithful readers and thanks to all of you - I just felt like bitching for the moment. Hey this is my free therapy and I can bitch if I want - and you have to listen).
    • Why I am carrying a few more pounds than I did when I was younger - oh ya - not eating well & not exercising routinely & that gravity thing
    • Why I don't get at least 20 comments a post (many Stealth readers - but I love and thank all my readers- this is soooo much fun!)

Pointing you in the direction of Scrappleface this morning for some yucks!

Also, if you have any suggestions for post ideas - fire away. Off to have a pot of coffee!

    And the winner is....
    Shayne

"Hey, New Orleans! I HATE YOU. HERE'S SOME MORE WATER!"

I still owe Shayne from the Elephant in My Coffee contest. Now I owe him 2 meaningless gifts. I may have to think about this one a few - let you know when I decide.

Getting to know my readers better
Everyone seems to be doing questions this week (Amy Proctor for one) and I thought that might be fun here. I have a lot of readers here that still remain blogless (is that a word). This blog is supposed to be non-political and my other Elephant in My Coffee is my political forum. However, I often have trouble removing politics from this blog...politics are part of my life, what can I say? So a little fluff and fun for the day. And of course, I anxiously await your answers. I won't post again until I have 20 comments (but I will announce the winner on Friday). Knock yourselves out!

    1. On a scale from 1-10, how do you rate yourself first thing in the morning?
    2. Beer or wine?
    3. Coffee or OJ?
    4. Last book your read?
    5. tighty whities or boxers?
    6. cats or dogs?
    7. Last time you had a documented hangover?
    8. Did you ever inhale?
    9. Person you'd like to bitch slap?
    10. Favorite blog (besides this one)?

Have fun with this, also just for yucks, let me know if you have any suggestions for me on how to improve this blog?

    My answers.
    1. 4
    2. beer
    3. coffee by the IV, then OJ
    4. Harry Potter
    5. Whities of course
    6. cats
    7. last Friday night (& that was a rare one)
    8. Only Bill Clinton could tell you... of course
    9. Today...my brother (sorry mom but at 36 it is time to move out of the house)
    10. Tossed between Indian Chris and Sleepless Mind and soooo many more

    Fake Camping
Our family and another are doing what I call fake camping this weekend. We have a sick cat, so we are camping 20 minutes away from home at a lake. After a night of beer and more beer and then sleeping in a way too hot tent, I am home to take care of the cat. I took a shower, hopped on the puter and tidied up a bit. Did I mention I have a hangover - bad Greta!

So, now back to the great outdoors. I think I have graduated from tent camping and am ready to move up to a camper. I guess the older I get, the higher maintenance I get. The boys are fishing and hopefully will catch something. I plan on working on my tan today and doing nothing - ya right!

I brought the Super Dog Home for the day as he doesn't like too much of the great outdoors. He is happy to have his place on the couch and chase a few cats around! Ciao!

    Quit Griping!
Alright, NOBODY is happy about the gas prices and the future of the economy- deal with it! We can only imagine the snowball effect that Katrina will have on all of us. As I plan for food, fun and festivities for the Labor Day weekend, the family time I look forward to will certainly be overshadowed by the stories of HELL coming from our own Country. A sombering story about a boy having his pet taken away from him as he boarded a bus touched me as I was at the vet today getting additional medicine for my cat. People aren't even with their family, pets, homes or belongings - I feel most for the children, of course!

I will personally volunteer to go down there and shoot looters or rescue people as soon as manpower is necessary (you wouldn't want me to shoot - I suck at it). Hubby has volunteered to go as well - when he is needed. I e-mailed another Hooah wife who has friends and family from New Orleans and offered my house to anyone she knows who needs it. I feel as helpless as I did on 9/11. Sorry for the sad post, but this is indeed a sad time for the US and the horrible excuse for human beings that take advantage of others misfortunes.

    Yay - I won something
My August 18th post was recognized by Stop the ACLU as the post of that week. I guess I'll just sit back and wait for the prize money.

The other good news is our business is picking up (We Surf For You). I really loving doing the website critique part - our motto "We don't want to fix them, just tear them apart." What a blast this business is - just waiting for it to really take off. Any suggestions from any of the brains out there? Obvuisly, the free stuff is great - but the $ part is pretty dang important too!

    Aussie View on the ACLUseless
I asked my friend Bozwell over at It's a Matter of Opinion what Aussies thought about the ACLU and if they had a similar orgination. Here is Bozwell's response.

The ACLU do seem to be a rampant bunch of tossers. In a brief look at their website it seems that they are a disturbingly large and well known group. To my knowledge there is no group of such standing in Australia. There are however lots of individual groups that don't seem to get much attention here.

Each State here has its own "Civil Liberties" organisation and whilst I'm sure that they all "piss in each others pockets" all the time they don't seem to garner much attention as a united group.

I think most people here would despise the ACLU and all that it stands for. At the moment the problems that exist here are more on a local level, in other words State by State...

The State of Victoria in which I live happens to be one of the best examples of Left-Wing -Lunacy at a political level due to it being run by a Labor (trade union founded) Government, although there are other States that are Labor-run also.

At a federal level we have the Liberal Government in charge (woo-hoo!!!) and they were re-elected by a majority landslide victory at the last federal election.

I think that the vast majority of people in Australia are rational and fair minded. In Victoria at least, there is growing unrest regarding such things as lenient sentences for recidivist criminals brought on by a focus shift away from law and order in general. That's just one thing that a whole heap of people here are becoming disillusioned with.

Our society is plagued with the views of the vocal minority and this is not helped by our heavily biased Left-Wing media outlets so often supporting their causes.

The good news is that having had a two minute surf of their website (and I honed in on "Prisoners Rights"), I think that America has the right attitude towards crime and punishment. The fact that the ACLU don't like what is going on regarding this particular issue only lends weight to what is already happening...in other words, whatever they bitch and moan about--just reverse it and you have the correct answer!

There are serious problems in Australia with crooks having the upper hand and victims rights being ignored. I have always thought that mandatory sentencing and for that matter the Three Strike Law are wonderful ideas. Sadly though we have none of these laws in place that I am aware of.

Perhaps the closest thing to something similar to the ACLU here would be "The Greens"--a rampantly Left-Wing political party that can scream loudly enough but fail to convince the voters at large.

I have always thought that the relationship America and Australia share is something special and that somehow if a hybrid of both cultures was to be adopted we might find the mix to be an excellent one.

The ACLU obviously deserve to be treated with contempt but I think the George Costanza attitude may serve it well...Let's do and think everything opposite to them and we cannot lose!
