    Free Speech?
Check this story out about Ward Churchill, a tenured (wacko nutjob) professor from the University of Colorado. He wrote an essay shortly after 9/11 claiming the Americans that died deserved it. http://www.insidedenver.com/drmn/education/article/0,1299,DRMN_957_3501617,00.html
What should be done about someone like this? It is one thing to be Michael Moron & hate your Country but another to hate it so much you wish these atrocities on your fellow Americans. I am deeply disturbed by this -if you couldn't tell?Talk to me!!!

By the way - click on http://OkieMinnie.blog-city.com - she has some great Iraqi inspirational links!

    Feelings You Can't Explain
Watching O'Reilly last night when Geraldo (hard to overlook the vision of some white supremacist psycho throwing a chair at his nose) said he started crying twice during the day while watching the voters. He said it was a feeling he couldn't explain.

I am so thrilled for the people of this Country - a feeling I can't explain, as myself & the world watches their new nation unfold. Maybe they will soon feel safe enough to turn in every last bad guy. They obviously felt they HAD to vote.

I stood in East Berlin the week Checkpoint Charlie was abolished & felt the lift of oppression from all the entrepreneur's selling their chachkis in the streets & the people throughout the country. An amazing feeling.

When I stood in Buchenwald Concentration Camp, (the only one that had not been disturbed or rebuilt) feelings that I can't explain overwhelmed me. I just stood and cried endlessly

    (I never cry).

I've read that a Mother's instinct can detect a pedophile. They can feel their hair stand up on their back. This is a phenomenon that can't be reproduced in a lab setting.

Hooah to all the Iraqi people! I feel elated for them!

    Comedic Relief
As the eve of elections in Iraq approaches & I am nervous for the troops - I thought this story would make you laugh. Considering my husband doesn't get any beer (his favorite beverage) during his deployment -this story really will crack him up! If you were in your car & an avalanche fell on you & you were buried in snow & all you had were 60 beers - what would you do? This guy was a freakin genius! I say he gets some type of award for his ingenuity! http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_1261997.html?menu

    Navy Terrorist Program

The US Navy today announced that it has released a senior Al Quaeda terrorist after questioning him extensively for 27 days while being held prisoner aboard a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea. In a humanitarian gesture, the terrorist was given $50 US and a white 1962 Ford Fairlane automobile upon being released from custody. The attached photo shows the terrorist on his way home just after being released by the Navy.

Anonymous answer to a ? on this blog
Chris asked is the war is Iraq “worth it” (in a previous post) considering the loss of American lives, the tremendous cost, and the fact that we did not find WMDs. I will try to add my thoughts here but I ultimately you will have to answer this questions for yourself.
    1. Don’t get hung up on WMDs. The timing of the war was due to the THREAT of Saddam having WMDs. Everyone in the world knew he wanted to develop nuclear and bio weapons and most in the world thought he still had, at least, a chemical weapon arsenal. Regardless, for our own national security we could not afford to wait until the presence of these weapons was proven because, by then, it would have been too late. Saddam was a bad guy. With WMDS his neighbors would be in big trouble and once transferred to the terrorists our worst nightmares would have been that much closer to being realized (not to mention he may have used them on our troops if he had them). I say THANK GOD he did not have WMDs.
However, at this point the war is not longer about WMDs. We are now clearly fighting our biggest battle, to date, in the war on terror. The terrorist chose post-liberated Iraq as the battle ground because a free and prosperous Iraq presents a huge threat to their future. There is no doubt in my mind that without the infusion of foreign terrorists and foreign terrorists funding the war here would be well behind us. The al quada types are fighting for their survival here. If they lose here, coupled with their loss in Afghanistan, then they are in serious trouble. If we lose then they will most likely gain a new sanctuary (like Afghanistan was) from which to train, recruit and resource new attacks on the U.S.. I think that is unacceptable.
    2. Whether or not the war is worth it in terms of blood and treasure is a tough question to answer. I try to look at this way. We Americans have what we have today because those that went before us were willing to sacrifice blood and treasure to ensure their children, grand children, great grand children, etc. would have a better future. We live in the greatest country in the world because Americans have always been willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that we have the freedom to determine our own destiny. We now have a history of well over 200 years. During the last 200 years how many other countries have not been ruled, at some point in time, by a tyrant, despot, communist, etc.? In the last century we dealt with the threats from Nazi Germany, Japan, and the Soviet Union before they became a direct threat to our national security (i.e., invasion); before it was too late. Dealing with each of these threats required a tremendous sacrifice in terms of blood and treasure. Were those sacrifices worth it? Are the sacrifices we make to end the threats posed by the Saddams of the world and the terrorists before it is too late, worth it? We had years of intelligence about the threat posed by Osama Bin Laden and we believed he had sanctuary for training and recruiting terrorists in Afghanistan. We did what we could, short of the ultimate sacrifice, to prevent him from carrying out an attack on our nation. After he killed 3000 Americans we decided to invade Afghanistan (sacrifice blood and treasure) to put an end to the threat. Few would argue that what we did in Afghanistan was worth it, yet, in my mind, it was too late.
To sum up I guess the history books of the future will have to answer Chris’s questions about Iraq. The problem with doing things before it is too late is you can never really determine when “too late” is going to be (until it is too late). This makes our actions in Iraq an easy target for the critics, nay-sayers, pessimists and down right jerks who seem to want to see us fail. by the way, I have no doubt these same people would be criticizing our Country and our President for not liberating Iraq if we had waited until Saddam and/or the terrorists had possession of WMDS before we decide to do anything about it.

    • other neighbor getting cable put in - installer cut my dog's invisible fence
    • had invisible fence repaired
    • had gas company over to check why we had a $460 gas bill

    Bikini Bottom & Dr. Dobson
Had to get to the bottom (LOL) of this controversy. I saw the video http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6852828/ & only saw SB with Gary on his head. I did not see him & Patrick running into the restroom of the Krusty Krab for a little hanky panky. If Mr. Dobson got gay tolerance out of this video - maybe he is hiding something! Barnacles!

    Sponge Bob is Straight
Sponge Bob is gay? Annoying, stupid, simple - but too immature to have any sexual preference. According to the Far Right religinazis - I have now subjected my children to hours of homosexual influence. SB (as we call him in my house) is a family favorite.
    • Will someone attack Patrick for having below average intelligence?
    • Will Gary be removed by PETA for animal cruelty?
    • Will Squidward be attacked by classical musicians for being a disgrace to clarinet players?
    • Will Mr. Krabbs be sued by "The Donald" for making guys who like money look bad?
    • Will Mr Krabbs daughter Pearl (she is a whale) make adoption advocates enraged?
    • Will Sandy be attacked for negatively effecting Texas women who take Karate?
    • Will Osama sue Plankton for being a better evil mastermind?

    Self Interview 2
How does it feel to be the Army wife of a deployed soldier? I am very proud, very patriotic & anxious for his return. Some days are better than others. For the most part - life is great.

How do all the anti-war protesters make you feel? I want to smack them all silly & deport them to Iraq to live. Funny how military families with the most to lose, support the war most.

Beer or wine? Sulfite allergy - beer.

Do you like living in Oklahoma? there is an old military wife saying about never saying the last duty station was better than the current one. It is growing on me & I am feeling planted.

Dogs or cats? Both - but cats are way cleaner!

Do you think our nation should mind its own business? The world looks to us in good times & in bad. It is either all or none. Does the world want us to cut off all the aid we give them too? As long as we all live on the same planet - everything is our business.

What do you think of NATO? I think it needs to go! It is a waste of taxpayers money!

Why do you blog? Free therapy. Also , because everyone should listen to me - dammit!

    Shop on Thursday!
What a pathetic attempt of people uniting to show they don't approve of Bush or the War in Iraq. There will be "blackouts" on the internet, protests during the inauguration & a campaign to not spend money on Thursday. All you libs & tree huggers are pissing me off. We are at war - support it! President Bush is the President for 4 more years - deal with it! Stop disgracing the nation. You are an embarrassment to your Country for whining about things you cannot change. Just grow up! There - I feel better now. By the way - I'm thinking Thursday would be a great day to do some retail therapy shopping!

    What would MLK say?
    1. Would he support the ACLU?
    2. Would he still support affirmative action?
    3. What would he say about reparations?

I personally think his "dream" would be that all these things go away. They continue to divide & not support racial equality.

    Liberal or Conservative? Conservative

Pro-choice or Pro-Life? Pro-choice but no partial birth - really pro- adoption
    & pro-prevention.

God's will natural disaster & disease? No

After Life - will you get there? If there is one - I'll be there

Organized religion? Not a big fan of it - too many hypocrites. Belive it is personal.

Religious beliefs? Identify as Jewish culture & religion. Jesus was real - but not the messiah. Don't feel I need to go to place of worship to have a relationship with God. Believe God created & possibly in charge of after life. Don't believe he deals with us on everyday basis. Probably consider self Agnostic. Believe religion often divides when it should unite. Love thy neighbor & not because they share the same religion as you!

True Love? Got him - no doubt.

    Coffee or tea? COFFEE!!!!

Movie or Dinner? dinner - can't shoot my mouth during a movie.

The far left in CA really need to form their own Country. The "bizarre" news that continually comes from there never ceases to amaze me. This particular story caught my eye today. In Palo Alto a career day speaker advised middle school students that stripping & exotic dancing could be lucrative career moves for girls. This was the speakers 3rd year coming to that school. Perry Humor
Feeling a little like my cat Buster today. The term "bustery" in our house means: you are lazy & do things half-assed. My 17 lb, 26 - toed tom-cat is known to frequent the food dish on an hourly basis. When he attempts to clean himself - he falls asleep. Lets put it this way - he is the only cat in the world who requires me to wipe his ass. To sum it up - today I feel "bustery" (no specific reason - just do).

Campaign Cut Inauguration Glitz - Aid to Tsunami
    http://www.wagingpeace.org/articles/2005/01/00_krieger_cancel-parties-increase-aid.ht
    http://users.boardnation.com/~kctv/index.php?board=18;action=display;threadid=2258

Lets just say after suggesting that Bush cancel Inauguration Gala Glitz I have done some more research & given it second thoughts. Deb pointed out in a response to me that he earned this gala. Yes, it is through private donations but doesn't it feel we are continuing to be ostentatious to the rest of the world?

When I want to buy milk - I decide if I can beat Sam's or Wal-Mart prices & go to Albertsons. Yet, I feel our government doesn't shop like I do. Waste makes me nauseous. So is this gala waste? I guess it is deserved fanfare & supporters who worked hard & already spent big bucks deserve it. Yes, these are probably the same $$$ donors to the Tsunami relief.

So, this is 1 campaign I may not peruse. I wish I could jump in & start managing the budgets in the US (though I still don't balance my checkbook well). But I love to shop around & get the best prices. It would be a service to my country to perform this "retail therapy" as my friend Silke calls it.

    Zarkawi caught?
http://www.aljazeera.com/me.asp?service_ID=6517 Drudge had this rumor on Tuesday now it is moving forward. Hope that we really have him & are torturing him before the International Red Cross & all those other touchy feely people step in. I am tired of groups wanting to treat terrorists like prisoners of war. As far as I'm concerned - rules of the Geneva Convention need to be changed & should not apply to them. They don't play by those rules either!

    Tsunami/Fraud
I would like to direct you to a website that I frequent. She has some good info on charities to trust & before & after Tsunami destruction photos. http://okieminnie.blog-city.com/index.cfm. Want your hard earned dollars to be used well! Fraud is alive & well in the world.

My fraud story of the day: A drop- off day care opened 2 months ago in town. When I found out hubby was leaving we went & checked it out. We loved it so much & tried it out so we could do some Christmas shopping.

The deal was for the 1st month they were selling $100 passes that didn't expire. The day care would only cost $1 an hour per kid. The regular price would then be $3.75 Knowing what a bargain this was - I bought $400 Nov 30th and used about 50 hours. Today I found out - they were shutting down. The owner called the director this morning & told her to deal with it & close the doors at 5:00.

She crossed the wrong woman's path!!! I already called the police, local newspaper, attorney general & my credit card company. I will not be responsible for the bill. I am more than pissed off at this woman. She even sold some poor guy yesterday a pass - that was the icing on the cake. I hate to think there are thieves in the world - but there are.

    A Brilliant Idea?
Amidst all the negativity from the UN & the press towards the US & of course the President - a brilliant idea was born. My latest proposal is to cancel all the inauguration festivities & pare it down to a small ceremony & the ball. The money saved (regardless of how much was spent already) could be designated to the Tsunami relief efforts. Well???

Letter to Sean Hannity January 3, 2005
I want you to start a Campaign! Cancel inauguration Gala! I am a Proud Conservative American with my husband serving in Iraq & all the tragedy in the world - don't think it is necessary right now!I want the President to cancel everything except the ceremony for his inauguration & donate all the $ to the Tsunami relief. Think it would help with local & world politics as well~Greta Perry Army Wives Serve with Pride!http://hooahwife.blogspot.com/
